Working through the colder seasons can be challenging, but having the right winter work gloves makes all the difference. Instead of dealing with frozen fingers or risking injury while working outside, you can tackle your tasks safely and effectively with minimal cold interference.
Cold weather can lead to various injuries, from mild discomfort to serious conditions like frostbite and hypothermia. Our goal is to help you avoid these risks, especially those that impact your hands. So, what are your options for cold weather gloves? And what are the warmest gloves we offer? All that and more explained below.
The right thermal protection is key, but keeping hands warm, dry, AND dexterous can be tricky. Check out the cold weather liners and insulated gloves options we have below to see which one aligns with your environment and activity level.
When temperatures are just starting to drop, light thermal liners are a great starting point for applications that only need occasional warmth or for cooler indoor workspaces.
Ideal for wet and cold temperatures: Breathable and waterproof, our H2X® liner adds additional insulation from cold, wet environments, all while locking in warmth and keeping hands effortlessly dry.
C40 Thinsulate™ is a very thin, warm layer for gloves. It's great for busy hands in cold weather as it keeps you warm without making you too hot, even when you're moving a lot. It works well in most cold places.
C100 Thinsulate™ performs well in freezing conditions where extra insulation is needed in lower temperatures, delivering the protection and warmth you need to tackle jobs in most cold environments.
C200 Thinsulate™ is engineered for extremely cold temperatures found in northern climates, such as those found in parts of Canada, North Dakota, and Alaska.
When it is colder than cold, frozen nose cold, we recommend our safety gloves that feature a C100 Thinsulate™ level. For reference, C100 Thinsulate™ has been tested and proven to offer more warmth than a heavy winter coat. If you're looking for that warmth, the Chrome SLT® Cold Weather 4063W is your go-to for freezing cold weather resistance, while remaining dexterous and comfortable. Complete with a goatskin leather construction and OilGuard® treated leather, your hand won’t become frozen solid and stiff from liquid saturation.
You've found it. You won't be getting the full warming effect with the Chrome Series® Arctic 4082 as you would with the Chrome SLT 4063W above, but you will get the cold weather cut resistant glove you've been wanting. Plus, it’s constructed with a C40 Thinsulate™ interior liner that keeps hands warm when it's considerably chilly outside. The 4082 not only comes complete with a goatskin leather palm and a secure wrist closure, but it features our exclusively-licensed SuperFabric® brand material that offers the highest cut resistance on the market.
With the Rig Lizard Arctic® 2023X, this won't be an issue anymore. Equipped with Level 2 impact resistance from our exclusive IR-X® Impact Exoskeleton™ back-of-hand impact protection, you can say goodbye to smash injuries from accidental drops and slips. Plus, it's waterproof! The paired H2X® waterproofing and C40 Thinsulate™ liners work together to keep your hands warm and dry, especially while working in slushy, wet environments.
In environments where cold doesn't even begin to describe the conditions, you need gloves that deliver warmth and protection when it matters most. Our all-new 4064IMPW winter gloves are designed to conquer extreme winter challenges with our warmest C200 Thinsulate™ liner. Imagine the cozy embrace of two thick wool sweaters, but without the bulk – that's the level of warmth 200g Thinsulate™ insulation provides, ensuring you can tackle any task with unrestricted movement.
We've gone further, integrating back-of-hand impact protection and an additional H2X® waterproof liner to keep your hands dry AND warm. Plus, the outer layer is treated with our OilGuard® technology to prevent premature liquid saturation. The result? A glove that truly shields your hands from the elements, inside and out, keeping you dry, warm, and ready for whatever the job throws your way.
We’ve know we’ve been talking a lot about gloves and how essential they are in the cold, but hand protection isn’t the only thing you need when working in cold environments.
When your warm breath and body heat collide with a cold climate, safety glasses can fog up in an instant. This results in workers having to take their glasses off to see, subjecting them to potential hazards and compliance issues – but not with our permanent anti-fog coatings that are chemically engineered to NOT wash off.
We have two specialized coatings that are designed to protect against moderate to heavy fogging on the job – TruShield® 2F and TrueShield® 2SF. The anti-fog coatings are on the inside and outside of the lens and offer greater fog protection in more severe conditions.
To make sure you’re fully equipped, click the images above to check out a few frame styles that come with these advanced coatings, offering both comfort and protection for the toughest cold-weather tasks.
You're officially ready to stay warm and safe this winter. But, before we go, we want to remind you to check the size chart for the gloves before you purchase – because of the thermal liners, the glove may fit more snugly to your hand. This may lead you to size up for a proper fit. If you have any questions, please contact us. Stay warm and safe out there!
